What Is Phowa?
The practice of conscious dying (tib. Phowa) is one of the most profound teachings transmitted in Diamond Way Buddhism. Through this practice one learns to transfer one's consciousness at the moment of death into a state of highest bliss.
This practice is not only a helpful preparation for the last moments of one's life: the transformation of our view regarding death will let us experience everything from a fearless and richer position, from which we will really be able to benefit others.

Who Can Learn Phowa?
Whoever is able of working with his own mind can learn how to die consciously. Before taking part in a Phowa course, you are strongly recommended to complete the preparatory practice on Buddha of Limitless Light and repeat 100.000 times the mantra OM AMI DEWA HRI.
It is also necessary to have taken Buddhist Refuge. It will be given by Lama Ole at the beginning of the course. Those joining the course for the first time commit themselves to participate in the entire course. You can learn the preparatory meditation and receive further information in every Diamond Way Buddhist center.
